250X 1st gear

Default 250X 1st gear

How hard is it replace 1st gear and a new clutch? Well clutch is no problem but never done a gear what do you have to do.

I've done a clutch on mine and you're right, no problem. Never did a gear but I think it's pretty involved.

to replace a gear you have to remove the engine...split the cases and then ofcourse take the gear off, and install a new one...so you will be needing new gaskets and factory suzuki gasket sealant, i just use Yamabond on ever thing stuff works great.

C1 (countershaft 1st gear) is a replacable gear .. M1 (mainshaft 1st gear) is machined into the transmission mainshaft and is not replaceable , if it is bad the mainshaft has to be replaced , any shift forks worn should be replaced... You will need gasket kit A & B also ...
