Default 2006 rancher shifting problem

I have a 2006 rancher 350 4x4 with electric shift. When i first start it it shifts fine with no problems at all. After about 30 minutes of riding when i have it in neutral its reads that im going like 5 mph and when i rev it it goes up. I have to shake the whole bike around while hitting the shift button for it to shift out of neutral. What could be the problem?

Have you tried adjusting the clutch?

It has a hall effect speed sensor ... I would first remove the speed sensor and check the end to make sure it is clean ...

Default just maybe

I'm not and expert, so follow all the pros advice but,
I have an 06 rancher myself..I was having almost the same trouble..It would hang in gear (or out). I would have to turn it off and then back on..sometimes get off and kick it (lol). the display would flash etc.. I cleaned the ground and hot cable but that didn't help..I started to take it in the shop but before I did I thought I would be nice and spray it off for the mechanic..Took pressure washer to all the underneath and etc. Let it sit for about 2 hours (cause I took a nap..lol) started it up and it works fine..so just maybe try that..It hasn't acted up since then. I know that sounded crazy and hopefully it would work for you. Good luck

Well..if your electric shifter motor is bad, you could always take it off and put a foot shifter on it.. =)
