Blacksheep Thanks for the info . Like I said I would love to have a 350x again . No disrespect intended . I thought you might have been a keyboard rider that does not know what he is talking about . My motor runs great and is completely stock with low hours . Since you have owned a 350x you may know what I talked about in an earlier post . My old 350x would pull very hard but around 5 gear it would almost seem to pull harder and be gaining speed and never really topped out . The frame cracked like they always did , I got a good deal on a 250x frame and did the swap . I never could get the four wheeler to pull like the old trike . Looking back I never changed the gearing on the 250x frame so I was running 13/38 gearing . My old 350x was stock but I cant remember if it had stock tires or not . I am 41 now and have built another 350x /300ex conversion . Love the bike but like everybody I am always looking to improve it . You can buy 350x rear tires on ebay sometimes maybe I will try them .
thanks for reading my post

Your races in Wapak were put on by my buddy, Jesse Hardin "Knobbies". I have yet to make it over to watch any.
I just wanted to comment on what you done.
A few years ago I bought a old 250x and did the 350x conversion "I actually bought the kit" because I liked the old 350x aswell. The quad was like brand new and totally custom when I was done, very nice indeed. I bought a used engine off ebay and it ended up needing rebuilt, fail.
So I decided to purchase a brand new 1 that way I knew everything would be mint, ebay aswell 1 grand.
I used the 400ex carb aswell, the exaust was the custom setup that came with the kit, the engine was left bone stock and I cant remember the gearing I used.
The quad ran great and was comparable to a 400ex. As far as races it did ok and was mainly dependant on riders. I loved the quad, but it was hardly what I concider fast "in stock form", I'm sure some engine mods and etc and it would be great, but with the newer engine designs out there a person would be buisy making the 350x comparably fast.
Just 1 example, a 450 would and will smoke a 350x as a trike or quad.
Bottom line in my comment, it's great to see people keeping the vintage stuff alive and thank you Bigbore for sharing your story.
And bigbore, if you want some 350x engine parts I have some from the first engine I bought. I have everything except crank assembly/piston, jug, head.

Thanks for posting . Jesse does a fantastic job . The only thing I might need would be a 350x rolling chassie and maybe a carb . Love my bike but I am planning on putting a megacycle cam in it this winter and maybe a 10:25 to 1 piston ? I would like to have a 350x /triz 250 or a 1985/86 250r honda . I like the vintage stuff thanks

i still have a old 350x motor i rebuilt a few yrs ago with the intent of putting it into a 300ex frame.never got around to it.As a fan of the older motors theres no way a atc 250r is going to outrun a strong running quadzilla. Now as a past owner of 2 quadzillas i will be the first to say the mighty lt500s had lots of torque but werent really impressive once out of third gear due to the wide gap in gear ratios. But they would do 80 plus. Most of the 250rs didnt even want to pull 6th gear.Personally i could care less about top speed but for braggin rights some people do it.

Drag race season is here again . I am running the same 350x motor in a 300ex frame . I made a few changes this year . I have 400ex a arms and shocks on the front same as last year but I am putting my 300ex shocks back on for the race to lower the front end . I have been running a 350x swingarm and shock but I took an extra 300ex swingarm and added 3 inches to it . I put the extension in front of the shock mount so the swingarm tucks in a tight now my bike is slammed to the ground . I dont know if this will help . I am trying to get a better start everyone straps down their quad suspension for more traction . I also changed my gearring I am running a 13 tooth front and a 38 tooth rear with 22 inch zipper snow tires . I tested it with a gps and can get it up to 56 mph in 300 ft . My son will also be running 22 inch tires . The race is June 9th In wapakaneta Ohio . You can go to knobbiesdirtdrags.com for more info and to view past rseults . I will post my results thanks for reading my post

I rebuilt a atc 86 250 all stock and my buddy had a new yamaha 660 rapture , we got on the new air strip before it opened, all gravel, I started rippin throw the gears waiting for the big yamaha to pass me off but it never happened. I have a 350x now and would love to race a 400ex.
