ok i have a 2000 totally stock 400ex, i was wondering on the pipe situation. I read in my ATV mag that the white bros E-series gets the most out of the 400ex, can anyone back this up? Also does this come with a new head pipe or do you have to purchase taht serpately. Thanks i also plan on a kn with outerfilter, a dynojet kit and then put some holes in my air box. Any other resonable suggestions? thanks

I have the same situation and asked almost the same question. my reply was that they white bro's had a poor low end. will you need low end(tight trails/ tracks)? Because if you look close in your mag it shows poor low end. I think i might go with the procircuit t-4 and do the same thing your doin ecept for drilling the air box. If you have the money get a DMC i have never heard bad about it.

huh i still wonder because if you get the promeg series it comes with the s bend head pipe that is supposed to increase low end. e-series s-bend gives you like 2-5 low to mid range. I wonder then. DMC is good? i will gladly spend the money if it is a good pipe. Can anyone confirm this is DMC a really good pipe to get besides the price?

I really can't answer that question. I just got my 400ex. It already had the white bros pipe on it. I haven't ridden a stock one.

Come to think of it......anyone that has a white bros pipe, could you tell me if it has holes drilled in it for the stock heat shield?????? I may have been shafted with the silencer only!!!!!!!

Who told you the E-series makes poor low-end? My E-series made a HUGE improvement in low-end over stock, and the midrange increase was also very good, and just a little better on top end. I'd definitely recommend one, I'm really happy with mine. You can buy just the slip on (what I did), or you can buy the pro-meg, which costs about twice as much, and comes with a headpipe. I would recommend keeping the stock headpipe unless you're going to seriously race-mod your motor.

You won't loose bottom end on a whitebros. They are power adjustable by adding and removing discs. The whitebros pro-meg is a good running exhaust system, But if you want better, get the DMC. I have heard nothing but good reviews about it and have the dynos to back it up.

You don,t need to change your stock head pipes unless you are planing to at-least change your cdi box. Thay flow well enough for just a slip on pipe.

The WhiteBros exhaust with header pipe does have welded-on nuts for mounting the stock heat sheild.
