update dripping carb 450-s
#1
Awhile back I made a post asking for info on my carb dripping on my 450-s. Several good ideas were make, but none was the problem. While in cold Arizona I took it apart again, and after through examination(actually all I did was to put on my glasses) I discovered the holes the pin fits in that the float attaches to had worn. The resulting egg shape holes will not allow the float to exert enough pressure on the needle valve to fully shut off the gasoline resulting in the drip. A temporary fix was to shim the pin with some fine wire, but a new carb will probably be needed. I got a little extended warrantee left, so will hound Honda to do the repair.
Thought I'd pass the info on and thanks for the help.
