hey rancher riders, can anyone help me with my starter malfunction ? my rancher will not respond when i push the start button also the nuetral light wont come on. i tried the pull start but it wont start either.i can start it with a screw driver jumping the solanoid. any idea`s what is malfunctioning?

 

I had the same problem and just fixed mine yesterday. Mine was the voltage regulator/rectifier. On my trx 350 4x4 it is on the frame under the rear rh fender above the tire. It's not very big and has cooling fins on it. Mine was hot to the touch without the machine on. It was shorting out to the frame and drawing from the battery and popping my 30 amp main fuse and I guess this isn't uncommon! Hopefully this helps but I'm no mechanic. Good thing is this part isn't too expensive(about$75).
