How to wake up a 2002 Rancher 350?
#12
Remove the 4 screws holding the top cover on the carb. There is a big long spring under there that tentions the variable venturi. Start by clipping 12 rings off of it. It allows the venturi to open quicker and 'wakes' the rancher right up on throttle response. I have heard rumor of people I suggested this to cutting the spring 1/3 to 1/2 off it's length. I don't know if I would go that far, need to experiment more and have a spare spring in case you go to farr cutting the spring. Had report back from other customers who have Rubicons that have done this and made them so snappy that they will pull the front wheels off the ground from a dead stop full throttle punch. Make sure you install the cover the right way. It has a vacume port stamped in it that needs to line up with the tab on the top edge of the venturi diaphram
