When using Slime or Fix a Flat you want to make sure to ride it or get it up on blocks and spin the tires for a few miles worth. It helps to distribute it evenly and gets it out to the rim area.

The spare wheel to a boat I bought was sitting on the ground long enough to sink into the ground. After I mounted the tire it leaked around the rim because the rim was pitted from rust. I cleaned it with a wire brush and put some high temp(red) silicone on the rim. That filled the pits and it held air.

Be careful of what chemicals you use to seal a tire. Alot of chemicals are quite harmful to rubber. Use only chemicals that are designed for use with tires. You can get tire bead sealer at most auto parts stores.

I took the tire off snd the rim looked nice, but the tire had an imperfection on the bead. I dressed it the best I could with a razor and sandpaper. Then I smeared some silicone caulk around it and aired it up. All is well. Thanks for the ideas. Oh - PS - Auto stores have bead sealer but it isn't really what I was looking for. The stuff they have is simply a big bottle of fix-a-flat type sealer.
