honda rancher a/t horror stories
#11
I have a 07, running 25" Mud Lites, and 2000 km's (1250 mi) with NO issues, and I had a 04 stock with 2000 km, and only a clutch slipping a bit (which was a recall apparently).
I would like more power.
How much more power would a TRX350FM Rancher have?
My next option is a TRX420FM, just a little worries of EFI.

Thanks to all that replied, so far no one has had the replace the trans...
Wendal, as far as waterproofing I mean checking all ele. connections and using silcone or die ele. grease at all connections. This will solve most problems related to poor shifting and other error codes....
If you really want to go deep then you get into venting and snorkeling.
Thanks to everyone who has not had to replace the a/t for responding.

I love my rancher. Its a "2000" 350 4x4 with electric shift and until this year it never saw nothing but oil changes. My bad I know...
I have never added any dielectric grease to the electrical and it has been beaten pretty hard in the past from muddin' , stream crossings, hill climbing, stump and stone wall climbing and deer transportation.
Low miles for its age I guess, its got 1100 miles on it but its still 9 years old and I have yet to even change a light bulb on it and the ES works like a dream. This bike has never been garaged (heated), it has sat in cold damp barns for the last 9 years. Just this month after it sitting for almost 2 years in the barn without even starting I gave it a good tune-up only and it is roarin' again like the day I bought it.
Would I buy another or suggest too do so?
HELL YEH !
