Inhave had this quad for 2 years now and love the power etc. I have an issue with hot starting. I have had my valves done and I still have this issue. I will ride for a while, shut off, and if I try to restart, it will kick over but not start. I have the oil changed often and air filter cleaned each ride. My battery sits on a trickler so I know that is not the issue. I know when it is cold, I sometimes have to drain the bowl but this is when it is hot. Any clues????

This carb floods out very easily when hot! Absolutely DO NOT touch the throtle before or during a hot start. It is a pumper carb, and if you thouch the throtle you are injecting a squirt of raw fuel....
Also, it has an automatic decompressor, so you might want to check that it is functioning properly (usually do this at the time of a valve adjustment). Get a service manual if you don't have one.

I have the HRC kit and the kick starter, and once you have the drill down, it starts first kick every time, hot or stone cold!
When cold, I pump the throtle several times to prime it. Put choke on full, then kick it over and immediately turn the choke down to drop the idle speed. Usually have to baby it for a minute until it warms up.
Hot, I don't touch the throtle, just pull in the hot start button, kick it over, and away we go.....
