Need 250ex tires
Well you would think finding some new replacement tires for my Honda 250ex would be simple phone call to honda.....aparently not! None of the local dealers seem to stock these "odd ball" things - 22x10x9's. I even said I'd go to a 22x11x9 if that would make it better. They are telling me I can order some in but they sure don't come cheap $140 a piece at they are not even the ones I want. Currently it has some Dunlop KT175 tires on the rear that are worn down.
I'll keep digging locally, but has anyone bought tires online at a good price??

First off, the balooney stock tires are terrible....so you are well rid of them! By all means, don't go back to those.
What are your specific riding conditions (hardpack, mud, etc.) ??? That will make a huge difference!
I have run ITP Holeshot XC's in the past. Currently run ITP TrakStars which are radials, and they really improve the comfort of the ride and the handling. These are both 22" front and 20" rear. This lowers the rear a bit, but also lowers the effective gearing for a little increase in low end power. If I insisted on running 22" rear tires, I would run Holeshot XC in front and XCT in back.
The stock tires off a Honda 400EX, or 450R, or Suzuki Z400 for example, will fit your rims. You can find these cheap, as folks change them out for aftermarket.

We ride in dirt trails and quite a bit in the winter on snowy trails. I'd like to stay with 22" keep the ground clearance where its at. I can find lots of 20" tires but no 22" in say some sort of knobby tire. Seems up "here" the softer rubber type of tire works better in the winter on these lighter quads.
I'll check out the brands you speak of.
thanks

Believe it or not, even though I am in So. Calif. I live at the base of a mountain range (goes up to 11,500') that can get lots of snow (snowing right now!), so I do have experience riding in snow!
Forgot that ITP TrakStars come in 22" rears. http://www.itptires.com/sportatv/tracstar.html The ***** are widely spaced, so they don't pack up as much in snow....and most important they are high quality radials with a superb ride!
If you like balooney tires, the stock tires on the 300EX are 22". Ironically, I have owned two 250EX's and a 300EX, and first thing I did was remove the stock tires and throw them away....and you can't find any.....

Those Trakstars look pretty good!
I'll check for a price on them.

After stopping at 3 stores and several frusterating phone calls to find some darn tires, I found a place locally finally that seem to know thier sh*t and ordered a couple Trac Star 22-11-9's, they should be here next week.
Man I never thought finding tires for a 4 year old Honda of all things would this much of a pain!!
I didn't go the online route as I figured with shipping tires to Canada, duties, and handling fees etc. it would end up about the same money.

But man I can just imagine what 2 front ones would cost me!! The back ones ended up bieng $137 each installed! I know they are cheap online but after you pay shipping up to Canada, and other fees it adds up.
