TATOU 4S on a 400 AT Rancher
#1
So, would like to get a track kit, but I am worried my weenie Rancher 400AT wont have the "*****" to run them because of the power robbing AT.
Thoughts?
The Tatou 4S uses a gear reduction system, so I will loose 35% of my top speed, and add that to bottom end power. That being said, "1st" gear will be a whopping 4 MPH ground travel speed, which should allow my clutch to seat well, and get the RPM's up and the power through the pump-transmission.
Only person I know with tracks has Commander's on a Forman FM, but they are close to a 1-1 ratio, and it is is a good workout for the Forman to turn them in the deep stuff.
Any thoughts? My first thought is get a Forman 450/500 and then get tracks for it, but any experience on these would be great.

I don't know about the 400AT's power, but Mongrel has E Tatou tracks on his Sportsman 400, with the 2:1 gear reduction, and has no problems. The SP 400 doesn't have low range either. It does have a 29 HP 455cc engine though.
Edit: I just looked it up... The 400AT makes 25HP.. you might be alright.
