help 300ex problem

Default help 300ex problem

the last time i changed my oil the drain bolt stripped i hardly even tightend it but i felt it strip it wasnt leaking at all ive been riding it for a couple weeks with no problems but today when i was riding my buddy was behind me and saw the oil start pooring out he flew up next to me and of corse i thought he wanted to race so i punched it luckly i herd him screeming and stoped as soon as i stopped it stalled do you thing i did any damage? i didnt hear any different sounds didnt sound like anything broke we went back and found the bolt i twisted it in but its stripped really bad now whats the best way to fix it without replaceing the case is there something like jb weld i can put around the hole or something to fix the threads with?

I would just retap it. Also start using puncuation in sentences. Its way easier to read stuff rather than guess where sentences start and end.
Retapping would be the best I would think

Re-tapping will not likly resolve the stripped condition. When an internal thread is stripped, the metal is removed to the root of the thread. Therefore you are left with next to nothing for the tap to cut. Helicoils on the other hand actually inlarge the thread diameter in the base metal to accept the coil's outside diameter. Once installed, the inside diameter and thread pitch will be the same as the plug. Be extremely careful while performing this process. Metal chips from drilling and tapping along with the tab which is used to insert the coil must be kept out of the engine. If possible, use a "High Spiral Tap". They are designed to extract the chip as it is being produced. Straight taps on the other hand force the chip out the bottom of the hole.
