This is where I am. I had a code 5. The machine would not start. Now I have cleared the code 5 and my machine starts and runs but will not shift. I now get 2 differant codes. When I turn the key to on I get no code problems. The "N" does not blink. When I push both the up and down bottons I get a code 2. When the machine is running and I use the manual shift I get a CODE 3. The machine now starts with the elec start. Should I disregard the code 2 and go with the code 3 and replace the angle sensor. What do you think?

Code #2 is "shift switch system up and down" did you check the left handle bar switch ..?

 

If you have a meter you can check the switch and the sensor. A Honda service manual has the procedure in there. If the wheeler has a few hours on it or water crossings chances are its the bank angle sensor
