Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and I have an issue. I have a '99 300 ex with a 330 big bore kit. Ran good before. I installed a hot cam stage 1 and now it starts good revs up but feels like the rev limiter in coming in too early. It feels like the stops switch is being turned off and on over and over if you keep it at wot. Never did this before. Could it be a timing issue or what?? Any help is appreciated.

 

sounds like your stock rev limiter is shutting it down as you are getting into the "meat" of your torque curve...but that's not really a bad thing. You may have to get an aftermarket limiter to rev higher, but then you run the risk of lunching the 330

 

I have an aftermarket CDI box. I never hit the limiter before. I cant believe the cam makes that big of a difference. I dont believe it is hitting redline. How can I tach it to see my RPM's??
