I have a 06 Rancher AT that recently has had shifting problems. It doesn't seem to matter if it is in auto or esp but when I start up it show gear pos. in neutral but when i shift into drive I get a solid "--" and it wont shift out of first gear. If you ride for a little bit in auto sometimes the D will flash on then shift trans. into correct gear and kick back out leaving it stuck in high gear. Then sometimes it will work good for awhile. Any help is much appreciated!

 

You have to count the flashes ..

 

When the "--" comes up on gear display it doesnt flash, just solid
