Hi stangant,
may or may not work, but the problem could be that the fuel drain hose or outlet is open take a phillips or flathead and look for a screw close to the drain nipple on the bottom of your carb bowl and tighten it, in case its slightly open, causing your leak. good luck -justin
I attached a picture showing what to look for.

or it could be the carb bowl gasket depending on how old the carb is.
but you did write "out of the bottom" so it could be either.

My guess is that you have a gummed up or defective float, needle valve, or seat.

This will cause the float bowl to overflow.

Depending on what machine you have, if it has a primer ****, deterioration of the seal there will also allow gas to flow into the float bowl.

Needle and seat are bad.

The float is stuck and the fuel is overfilling the bowl. You need to take it off and tap it so it frees or take it apart and rebuild it while you are at it.
