Default Plastic Renew---does it work?

I'm new on here and new to the sport. My wife and I picked up a couple of used Honda 250EX's last year (a 2001 and a 2002). They seem to be great little machines and we had to stick a little money into them (tires, tune up, new seats). I'd like to shine them up a bit if I could. Armor All works great on the new seat and the black plastic. But what about the the rest of it? Wax won't work on plastic, but I've read about Plastic Renew. Does it really work? Thanks for the info!!

Welcome to the forum. I've heard good things about plastic renew, if you take your time.

Be careful with Armor All on the seat. It will make it very slick.

While taking care of a machine's cosmetics is a good idea, I wouldn't get too fanatical about it. The plastic will get scuffs and marks from normal use.

car detail secret...... I have never done this on a 4 wheeler, but I have used a heat gun on the black plastic molding on cars to turn them back black, just warm it a little. Be sure not to melt it!!!

I've done this with a small torch for years in the Automotive Stereo and video biz too..... works pretty good on MOST plastics, but the real soft ones tend to change sheen a little too much for my taste.... But for the sake of ATV plastics..... Can't hurt any worse than the tree limbs and rocks..... try on the underside first to verify any damaging issues first.

I think I'll give it a try. I've seen it online, but not sure if they sell it in stores or not. I'll have to check it out, I guess.

thanks for the info!

Another similar product is offered by Montana Jacks Atv. Seen very good results out of this product, however it is pretty time consuming to do. I do have this product, but haven't had the time to start mine yet.

ATV Accessories, UTV Accessories, warn winch, cargo box - Montana Jack's

Great info---thanks. I'm looking at a link for it now. Looks like it's pretty easy to use, too. The Plastic Renew looks like it would work as well, but I don't really have the time to do the wet sanding right now. I think I'll try this product and see what results I get.
