We are getting a lot of failures on the 05/06 500 transmissions, gears, selectors.
These are out of warranty big expense repairs.
Symptoms- refusing to go into gear
refusing to come out of gear
slipping out of gear
clunking into gears
worn edges on selectors.....and so on.
We have stripped 4 in a month, and know of others with problems.
What is members' feedback on this?
I think it is a big problem that is going to get worse.
Remember - before this we have never had transmission problems with Honda ATVs -- and suddenly we are getting a lot of them -- all on the Honda 500s --- which seems to me to be a metal problem
Any ideas anyone?
It is happening on footchange AND electric shift.

 

I just picked up one and it is doing this to me too. Its a footchange that just doesnt want to shift sometimes. What is the cause and solution??
