Does anyone have the cam specs for the XR400 cam? My Honda 400ex service manual doesn't give the valve lift, but it does give the valve timing (40,0,0,40), for an overall duration @.050 lift of 220int 220exh. So if you've got an XR400 manual, it'll probably have the valve timing in it too. I've seen the WB cams rated at around 265/275 for their midrange cam and 280/280 for the race cam, but both of these sound like HUGE cams!

Check out the Service Honda website or call the dealer for the specs. They have stock and mod cams for the XR400 but they can get kind of pricey.I ended going with the GT Thunder all around cam,but can't tell you how sweet it is yet I'm not done breaking in my new mods.

Motorhead, I have a 96-97 XR400R service manual, but I'm not for sure which numbers to give you. Under the Specifications section it lists the IN valve opens at 1mm lift at 11 deg BTDC, closes at 1mm lift at 41.5 deg ABDC. The EX valve opens at 1mm lift at 40 deg BBDC, closes at 1mm lift at 10 deg ATDC. It also lists the cam lobe height at 30.925-31.025mm(IN)and 30.827-30.927(EX).

I don't know if this helps, but if you like I will scan and email you the pages this info came from. Just let me know.
