Defending the ride of a SRA vs a IRS is like defending the old bogie wheel suspension ride over the slide rail system they use in Snowmobiles today.
Also the old Sportsman 425 had much more power and speed then the old Rancher 350. We went riding with a 350 rancher on some quick gravel roads and had to wait for it all the time ,I think it could not hit 45 mph, even the 300 Kawaski Lakota with us flew by it.
It does not take a big bore to tear up the trails,it just takes a ATV that has enough power to spin its back wheels to do it.
How can you damage a trail anyways? The rougher the better , no trail groomers and trail permits needed in this sport is what I like.

Listen here I have a 350 rancher 2x4 I bought just for a back up cuz I knew I wouldnt be able to break it. That thing has more ***** than the celtics locker room!!!! On a serious note it pretty lame on power but its only a 350 I have 25 inch mudlites on the back and it still turns out a modest 52 mph and to be honest I love riding it sometimes with all my buddies SUPER QUADS!!! We all take turns on it and have a good time its like the good ol days LOL. We might wanna let this thread die LOL it's way of base now hehehe

My honda 350 trx would hardly break 35- and my friends honda 400 rancher tops out at just over 40 with stock tires on it- The 25" tires might be throwing off your speedo...
but I could be wrong.

Once again I don't mud.
I have outperformed and out climbed way more locked IRS ATVs than have outperformed and out climbed me on my SRA ATV. I’m not saying that my 3-wd is better than 4-wd, sometimes it’s the entire package and not just a few of the options.
I understand the advantages of both.
On difficult trails IMO the only advantage that IRS has over a SRA is ground clearance and I have no trouble dragging my rear diff over a few rocks, doesn’t hurt a think.
Every ATV has an advantage over another ATV. Pick what’s important to you and buy the ATV that address' those issues and learn how to ride it.

You know Thats what I thought, that 350 Rancher should go faster than that, as we waited for this guy ,I did not know him, I think he was just to nervous to open it up. Even my old 350 Big Bear would go fast the he was riding.LOL Or the 4x4 model is much slower.

If you put two of the best shocks made by Nasa at a thousand dollars a per you could not make my Big bear or Foreman ride over bumps as smooth as my Sportsman can.

Alot of times, I think the rider has more to do with who gets where better than the quad does.
And I agree with the whole sport quad thing. There's a guy in town with a piped raptor 700, and I can tell what section of the trail he's on just by listening to where that sound is coming from, and how wound out he is. Everyone in town hates ATV riders because of this one guy and his 120Db pipe. Not to mention he widens the trail around every puddle, (Though he's not the only one guilty of that one) which pisses the landowners off. Very frustrating... And I hate to feel like that. Everyone should be free to ride the trails, but use some common sense, ya know??
