Default Mystery cable under seat on 250EX...

Under the rear seat by the battery are these 2 cables with what looks like a relay or something before it.

Any idea what this is for?

Thanks!

i don't have the part that you show with the green wire and black thing. my harness stops right there with the black/white plastic cap. on my '07 250, the wires also come off of the brake/taillight part of the harness. sorry i couldn't help out either.

The little box has a symbol for it being a diode. A diode allows power to flow one way but not the other.

Weird. Still not to sure what it is really for?

Jaster94's 250 does not have the wire, but mine does. Perhaps it is year specific?

Tach signal I was thinking, but I doubt that as well.

Defiantly not the brake light.

Perhaps I'll ask the dealer.

I'm pretty sure those wires go to your ejector seat,

Without looking at one or the wiring diagram, I can't say for the colours, but a 250 Recon has a wire from the neutral switch which goes to both the starter lock out and the neutral light, probably one to the CDI as well. This circuit has a diode in it, probably to stop a false earth leaching back through the neutral light when the bike isn't in neutral, which would disable the lock out. The diode system is also fitted to almost all other Honda quads and the Suzuki Eiger.

I have the same under my seat of 2001 Honda trx250ex. I'm trying to put a horn n turn signals on bike. I came across these wires. Wondering also what they are for? So if you figure it out, let me know please?
