I took it to the dealer and told them it has a grinding sound when engine is warm and told them to adjust the valves. They adjusted the valves which they said was loose and said it is the quietest engine they have seen in a while. What little I have drove it since I brought it home I do notice there is still some of the noise but not near as bad. I also noticed my 2008 rincon makes a little bit of that noise too. I guess it is normal for them. I can't believe that the valves would make the grinding sound!

 

Neither can I. I guess as long as it is better...

No I havn't figuered the noise out but I do know that my 2008 Rincon makes this noise also just not near as loud. Since I listened to my 2008 with 200 miles on it make some of the same noise it hasn't bother me as much and I have just been riding it. The Rincon now has 470 miles on it and I run it hard up to 60MPH about everytime I get it out and nothing has broke so maybe the noise sounds alot worse than it is and it isn't hurting anything. The bike is quieter than my 08 Rincon for what ever reason allowing me to hear more noises!

 

Hondas do seem to tend to make a little mechanical noise. Kind of hard to tell on the internet whether it is something to worry about or not.
