440ex jug removal

Default 440ex jug removal

I have an 01 400ex with a 440 kit installed. I want to take the cylinder out to get it resleeved because it is an older cylinder with some wear and the piston has a bit more clearance than should be. MY question is, can i get the cylinder/jug off the engine without having to take the engine out of the frame or no?

yea you can get the jug off with out removing the whole motor just start tearing it down fro the top also a lil tip get your piston on top dead center it will help when you are timing it

and tie a wire to the timing chain, to hold it up, if it drops, you will be taking the side cover off and pulling the flywheel/mag assembly to get it back on the sprocket !!!!!
