FourTrax 125 - Carb Question
#1
Hi,
I'm working on a FourTrax 125 (not sure what year, but mid 80's). I want to adjust the throttle down so my kids can ride it at low speed, but I need to get it to idle well first. It runs fine now if you keep blipping the gas as the RPM's drop in order to keep it running. If you keep your thumb off the gas, it will idle for a few seconds (5 to 10) then stall.
Step one is going to be some fresh gas. I also want to adjust the idle up a bit. Can someone tell me how to do that? I looked under the tank with the seat and rear fenders removed while pumping the gas lever, but did not see any carb parts moving. On my XR400, the throttle link to the carb is very obvious and there is a black screw that adjusts the idle speed (very easy). I didn't see anything like that on the 125.
Another thread I was reading said to clean out the jets. Any info on how to do that would be helpful too.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug
