Default Oil Drain Bolt Stripped !

All the bolt does is turn and turn inside of my trx 450r.. no oil seems to be leaking but i still need to change the oil eventually and honda said they would need to drill out the screw and put in a timesert but theres a chance metal scrapes might get into the engine or the drill could hit the gears soo possibly an oil siphon pump would do well?

Whatever you do, make sure the plug is good and secure. It would be a bummer to have it dump the oil while you are out riding, and ruin the engine.

There are oversized self-tapping plugs and some other options you might consider.

i just did same thing on my recon and flipped out. but, thanks to autozone, you can buy a replacement oil drain bolt with oversize threads for a couple bucks. works great, just slip it in. watch it though, as you dont want to strip it, but wana make sure its not leaking oil.

and on the plug thing, good idea, but i wouldnt trust my engine to it. those arent designed to withstand heat at ALL, and made of rubber. main reason why i wouldnt.
