i have a 95 300ex and it gets to much gas i put all new jets seals gaskets and float and it still isnt working right i adjusted the air and fuel mixture and it doesnt help. anyone got any ideas? i can turn the fuel off and right before the fuel runs out it works perfect

 

You sure it's "too much gas" or is it "not enough air"? An engine needs both in the correct amount to run good. When you turn the gas off, the engine runs until the last of it but just before it runs out, it has very little gas in the carb going into the engine. At that point, the ratio of air to gas goes up. That's whay I'm asking if you're sure it's getting enough air.

 

yeah true but ive tried everything it dont even have a filter on it and when i do put the filter on it runs worse it just seems like to me its getting to much gas ive rebilt the whole carb it got better but its still off just a little bit

 

Are you running it with the choke ON or OFF..?? It probably will not idle till it is completely warmed up and the choke off. Make sure the carb is seated properly into the head extension and the clamp is snugged up well.

 

im running it with the choke off and it will idle it just acts like it is skipping when i have it full throttle

 

Is it stock? Any mods?

 

its bored 80 over with a weisco piston and clutch kit

 

your main jet is too small . What color is your plug ? what size main jet are you running?

 

im putting a dynojet kit in it so it should run fine now
