Hi and welcome to the fourm. For starters and good practice always shut your fuel off when you park it.First check the bowl drain screw on the side the bowl to make sure it is tight. The small hose is a overflow as well as a bowl drain.Usually it is a bad fuel needle where the rubber tip gets a groove wore in it and when your float rises to level position the rubber tip on the needle enters the seat and shuts off the fuel suppy to the bowl, there is a small brass overflow tube in the bowl that rises above your float and when the needle does not shut off the fuel supply it enters the tube and travels to the hose,if not the fuel would enter your intake.Sometimes crud gets built up around the needle and prevents it from sealing as well.I'd suggest pulling the carb, removing the bowl and remove the float and needle and check it,I always submerge the float in fuel just to be sure it is not leaking.Check the rubber tip on the needle,it should flex and not be hard and should not have a groove,if so replace it.Clean the seat area with carb cleaner, while in it pull and clean your jets. It's not a bad job at all and pretty straight forward, many times I disconnect the fuel line & leave the choke cable/throttle connected and position the carb so I can get to the bowl
