Default 06 rancher es

Hi i have an 06 rancher es.Back in April I blew the bearings in the swing arm and busted the rear shock so the only thing holding the rear end on was the shaft and a tow strap we tied around the swing arm.when i got it home it sat for about a month and a half before i got around to fixing it,so when i got everything back together i started the machine with the pull start because the batt was completely drained. today i finally got the new rear shock after being backordered for 5 months put it on tried to start and nothing i jumped the battery and it turned over while jumping but would not fire ,i was getting code three on the display which is the angle sensor code, than a few minutes ago we got a strong smell of gas it the house went down stairs and gas was pissing out the overflow tube, so my question is would a dead battery be giving that code and the carb be blocked so the fuel is dumping out or is everything that is happening unrelated

Charge the battery if it will hold a charge or get a new one and clean the carb. Most likely the float has gummed up and is sticking causing the gas to over flow the bowl.
