2001 Foreman Display

Been a while fellas. Been a little busy with the new job and move to IA.
Last fall my 2001 Foreman 450ES started having the display go in and out. I thought I was crazy b/c it seemed to be temperature driven. When it got above about 40 degrees the display would start working. All winter I plowed w/o the display. This spring it started to work again and I kinda forgot about it.
Now that its cold again-guess what happens. If I take it hunting the display will not usually work in the morning (since it has been below 40 at night). But as soon as it gets warmer and the sun comes up-WaLa It works again.
Anybody ever have this prob. If so how did you stop the madness.
Anybody have any ideas on a starting point with this. It makes no sense to me. I gave my son rides almost every night this summer on it and never had the display not work. This is a weird one for sure. Can an electrical connection shrink enough to not make a good connection?
When it starts working again the clock is blinking like the battery had been disconnected. Also, the backlight for the display doesn't work either when the lights are on. Its like it has no power at all, but the Rev and Neutral lights always work.
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance

I would suspect you have a loose, wet, or corroded connector somewhere. At least that is where I would start looking.
If it were mine, I'd get a can of contact cleaner, some computer dust spray if you don't have an air compressor, and some dielectric grease. Then pull the negative battery cable and go over the whole machine cleaning connectors, drying them, and pack with a bit of dielectric grease.
