Default 250x rebuild help

i am rebuilding an 87 trx250x for a friend. it was smoking all the time not just on start up. so i took it apart and the piston looks good so i am just goin to throw in a set of rings and hope that takes care of it. however it it not the stock bore. the piston measures 3.148" about 80mm. i have looked all over online and i can not find replacement rings for it all i can find is the entire kit. anybody have any advice were to look?

thanks

David

For the gasket just go to ebay and buy a top end gasket kit. probably less than just one gasket from Honda.

Also, the 300EX has the same bore size as the 250X, so maybe the rings are interchangeable. I am not sure about this though. The ring sets have different part numbers, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are different.

the piston is not the stock size. i belive it has a 288cc big bore kit. the bore is 80mm so stock rings wont work as far as i know
