I have a 2005 350tm Honda Rancher and i'm trying to take the starter off and clean it but i can't get it off. Theres 2 or 3 bolts in the front that i've took off and can't seem to find anymore but it still won't come off.

 

I may be wrong but if it has a cover on the case in front of the starter you may need to take a gear out from the front to get the starter out. I've seen it on other Hondas but not your exact model.

 

The 350 rancher doesnt have the plate with gear behind it! the new convential have to very lightly tap or push starter out of engine[outwards] to unseat oring seal, the oring seal can make starter feel stuck....
