Default 1982 Honda 200E (carb problems)

82 200E carb is leaking gas out of hole in carb above thottle arm. I was wondering how to fix this or what i need to fix this. As soon as i turn petcock to on gas runs directly out out of this hole. I heard it probaly was the float sticking if so how do I fix this problem. I have a shop manual but dosent mention what the hole is for.

It's your float sticking for sure. the reason it's flowing above the throddle arm/lever is because the drain screw at the bottom of the carb closed , try opening the drain screw at the bottom of carb , there's suppose to be a hose attached to the drain hole on the very bottom of the carb and routed slightly above the carb ; in any case you'll need to remove the carb and give it a good cleaning !

After you remove the carb you'll need to remove the jet screw's and their seat's if they're removeable to properly clean the carb , just take note of how you take it apart and before you remove the jet/air/fuel mixture screw's count the amount of turn's in clockwise direction to a light seat ; don't over tighten this screw or you will damage the seat this will help you to get the air/fuel mix correct when you reasemble the carb .

Most likely when you remove the carb bowl it will have a crudey/varnish deposit that's not shutting the fuel off when the float get's to full level , the inlet needle doesn't seal the seat because of the built up gunk in the carb ; this should give you a starting point and i hope it's of some help !
