Has any of you who have the 440EX kit drag raced a Raptor or Banshee. I am contemplating the 440 for mine and I race sanddrags ocasionally so I am curious how it would do.

i have a modded banshee and the 440ex wont touch it in the drags. compared to a stock raptor, the 440ex has a chance depending on the rider>>>how good is he out the gate. i had a 400ex and it was sweet, you definately have a chance of hanging with the stock raptors then you do with tricked out SHEE'S. oh, ya a 440 ex wont beat a stock banshee in the drags. i guess its a 2 stroke thing. the banshee was made for this purpose. good luck

My stock 400EX would beat most stock Banshee's through 3rd gear. My 440 ties most piped and valved Banshee's with experienced riders aboard and I'm a fat guy. No way is a stock Banshee gonna beat this 440.

my bro has a stock banshee and i have a stock 400ex exept for jets and k&n filter. we are very close exept when we start to stretch the race out far, once he hits 6th gear he pulls away from me so i think a 440ex can handle a stock banshee or even a modded one.

I agree with ex4life a banshee is only a little quicker than a 400ex a few mods will catch it up to a banshee, and a 440ex can definately blow it out of the water it it is stock or even piped.

My buddies have highly modded 400ex`s. Last Pismo trip there was a raptor there. My buddies have pretty much everything engine wise that you can do with out boring out your cylinder. THey where dead even threw most of the drag until the end where the 400`s pulled away.

you guys are all smoking crack. do not tell me that a 440ex would beat a modded banshee in a drag. a modded banshee will beat a modded raptor in a drag,, let alone a 440ex. and anyone who disagree's is welcome to come to PA and see for yourself that what your saying is false. ive seen stock raptors that beat 440ex's in drags, and a stock raptor will get slayed by a modded banshee. you have no idea what your talking about.

To answer your post properly you would have to put two equally qualified, same weight riders on each quad and then let them drag race. I have a full race 440 and have beaten Banshees and Raptors in drag races @ sand mountain. I have also been beaten by Banshees and Raptors. If I were to build a sand race quad, I definitely would not use a 400EX as a starting point. My 400 engine has been taken as far as you can go safely and I just keep up with stock Raptors and Banshees given equal rider and rider weight.
