Default ES shift issues with no flashing

I am having ES issues, but when it sticks in a gear, nothing flashes like I see in other posts? There are times when I switch gears and the screen goes blank, but no flashing. If I turn the Honda off and back on again it eill come back on at that gear, it will shift then. If I slightly rock the Honda it will switch as well? Any ideas?

My 04 rancher es had a recall on the position sensor for the trans. Have you checked for that?

On my buddy's rancher he had the same problem and it ended up being his battery did not have a full charge.

is there a website that lists ATV recalls? either by brand or one lump sum that gets them all listed?

Call Honda with your vin #, they can tell you if it has a recall. Also, when your battery gets low, it won't change gears when its not running
