Just think what would happen if you had to make a quick avoidance maneuver and those things are strapped down tight.

I wouldn't put that on anything less than a 3/4 ton and even then I'd be hesitant. I've felt how a vehicle handles with a few hundred pounds of ladders and lumber on a ladder rack. Putting 800-1600+ pounds that high is looking for trouble.

Many years ago I talked to a guy that had a rack like that. He was camped next to me and I went over to his truck to check it out.

His truck was a 3/4 ton. I asked him how he liked his setup. He told me it worked great an he loved it. He had a travel trailer so he needed something like that.

I do remember the ramp angle was extreem when loading and unloading!! I also remembered they weren't cheap.

The other thought I just had is that it would be fine with a dually too. Just need a stiff suspension and some width to make up for the higher center of gravity. I also don't care for how steep the ramps have to be to get up that high. But, as Dr. Turbo said, for a guy pulling a camper that wants to go quadding it's probably as good as it gets other than a toy hauler camper.

Very popular out here in the west - see them all the time on 3/4 tons.

I also think it's not the best idea, although with a dually setup it's probably stable enough.

I would think that for the money, a flatbed for the back of the truck would be a better idea
