i just replaced the rear brake pads on my 2008 honda 400ex and the rear brakes are supper spongey. this is the third time ive replaced them and it seams like each time i do it the sensitivity of the rear peadle gets worse and worse. is their an adjustment im over looking or something? thanks!

I have a 2000 400ex with a rebuilt std bore top end, the pipe has all the insides out and is jeted for it. but it wont idle right, it coffs and dies but if you give it throttle its fine. Doesnt anyone know the answer.

Did you bleed the brakes? Sponginess will be there if there is air in the line and air can get in the line when you replace the pads.

Cody, you should start a new thread for your carb problems, don't hijack a brake thread for other help. But since I'm here, you probably need to clean out your pilot jet,or if you have gutted the stock muffler, you probably need to go up a size or 2 on the pilot, Honda jets them lean from the factory for emmissions, even a stock one will start better with a one up pilot, try that, and it should clear up your idling problems.

I would still go with bleeding the brakes. There is a certain way it needs done, or you will just suck air back into the lines. Also, you can't use that 5 year old bottle of fluid that has been left out and open forever, it is contaminated with water. If a proper bleeding doesn't fix it, you may want to try fresh fluid and new crush washers and try bleeding again if you skipped those steps before.
