'88 TRX300 steering bushing replacement
#1
Hi guys...new to the forum. I have an old, but well maintained 1988 TRX300. While riding yesterday, I noticed the steering had a lot of rotational off-axis movement. It appears some type of steering bushing has worn in two and fallen off as it can't be found lower on the steering shaft. I have an exploded view of the shaft and can't tell if the plate at the top of the shaft (that the instrument cluster attaches to) can be removed easily to slide the bushing down the shaft? Has anyone here replaced one and if so, how difficult was the job and was method did you use. A link to an exploded view is below. The bushing in question is #3. Thanks for the help.

Remove the two bolts that is holding the clamp down an remove bushing! May have to remove fuel tank to get to bolts ,The bushing is split so it can be removed real easy from the steering shaft..Clean shaft good and grease bushing before installion, this will stop any sqeauk.
