06 trx500fga compression
#1
Hi i just bought a 2006 trx500fga and wanted to go over the whole quad front to back. I was wondering what the compression should be. And also the engine sounds like a little knock or rattle when its cold but once it warms up it goes away. But if you rev it up it comes back for a few secs and then its good.Any ideas?

It is an automatic adjuster But you could try to reset it if that don,t work May try to remove tensionior and weld an extension on the end of adjuster to see if chain is the problem,If chain is the problem this will quiten down the noise!!!!!

Yeah it was the cam chain that was making the noise. I going to open it up anyway cause the compression was a 60. I did a valve set and got up to 85 but thats still low. I guess it should be between 88-135 psi.New piston and rings i figure. Then see whats going on with the chain.
Thanks for the advice.
