Default Tow behind rake

Anyone know of a rake (dethatcher) that could be pulled behind a Quad?
Used to rake pine needles, sorta like a dump rake.
Thanks

A word of caution here. When you put something like a rake, mower, leaf bagger, etc, behind a quad, they require you to move at very slow speed. Usually a speed that is not fast enough to keep the clutch engaged full time. It's in & out, in & out, in & out. I know several people that have ruined clutches very quickly pulling things like this around the yard.

I've seen a bunch of different implements like this on eBay.

i have used my big red to pull a york rake (much bigger and heavier then a thatcher) and i kept it in low gear and it worked awesome. Just go slow and dont beat it. The clutch thing is probably a bad idea due to burn out

Default Raking hay with an ATV

Is it possible to rake hay with an ATV pulling a 5 wheel Farmhand hay rake? What size machine might work?

Thanks

On pretty flat ground I would think you wouldn't have any issues. I'd say most any 400-500cc 4x4 should be fine, but I would personally reccomend a 5 speed and not an auto for work like this. If you get on some hills I would not trust an ATV to rake. They will spin going up and the rake could push you causing you to jackknife if you are headed down.

Thanks. I hadn't thought about the downhill problem, but was planning on raking along the side hill instead of up and down. That will create some problems at the ends of the field, I suppose, but probably nothing that can't be dealt with.

Im sure it can be done just as long as the rake is not too heavy and the hill is not too steep. I have pulled some very large loads of hay on flat ground with my dads 400 Honda with no issues, I just always make sure I have room to stop and dont get in a position when the wagon can push and jackknife.
