Default no-lift shift/flatshift 2010 rancher

i know it is possible to "flatshift" (shift without releasing the throttle) my rancher, but is it bad for it?

i have a 2wd footshift model, and i have "flatshifted" it accidentally before, and it doesn't seem to have had any adverse affects.

just wanted some opinions on how quickly this would cause issues, or if it is ok?

It's hard on the clutch and gears you may not notice any adverse effect now , but you will if you keep doing so , i was a truck drive untill i lost my legs in 1975 and a few fellow drivers would shift gears without using the clutch , this didn't hurt the clutch or tranny as long as the rpms were in the correct range ; but those same drivers chewed up the grears on a diffferent truck than the one they drove all the time !

Honda makes some of the best and tough engine/trannys in the industry , but none are completely bullit proff as some believe they are , as long as your rpms are in the correct shift range when you shift it may last a long time ; but if you want it to last as long as it can i would release the throddle as soon as the foot shift was in the upward posstion then give it the throddle just as you release your toe from the foot shifter as this is the correct proceedure !

The clutch is disengauged when shifter is in the upward posstion and ingauged when shifter is in the downward possition , even shifting the way Honda's owners manual suggest the correct shift proceedure you still need to make your shift when the rpms at the right speed ; this is something you learn the hard way , trial and error take care of your machine and your machine will take care of you !

wishing you all the luck with you Rancher they are fine machine's !
