Unhappy im devistated, and disgusted

okay,
yesterday i bought an 01 400ex.
today i was riding it
i heard loud ticking
i stopped
i rode it a little
it got louder
i stopped
i reved it a little
it kept dieing
gave it a good rev
and it died, loud clang, and wouldn't start again
started would start, but no compression or anything, just the "whirrrrr"
and on top of that later the starter went out to a "click", they "fixed" the solenoid right when i bought it, but i dont know
-so:

Is it blown?

how much will it be to rebuild if i had to?

need more info... could be anything in the motor.
no compression would have me wondering if it dropped a valve, broke the piston.... pretty easy to pull the head off and take a look-

I wouldnt even call the dealer. Monday morning I would be waiting in the parking lot before they open with the machine and paperwork. Have it fixed n/c to you, and get some free gear out of it or tell him its a pos and you want your $ back.

He's a nice guy.. I think. Hope ill get a free rebuild at least. He may just say tough luck- its as is. Then there's nothing I can do if he does that.
but surely he knew it was bout that time. I just don't know
But ill surely be there Monday mournin with the quad.
But it'll be awkward... I really bickered with him to get it.. I paid 600 boot + the 300ex. But I need a solution.

My top three guesses:

#1 Broken rod
#2 Dropped valve
#3 Broken timing chain.

Sounds locked up to me.

took it to the guy and dropped it off, he didnt say any thing about money, was real nice, so i hope he'll fix it free. Found out theres a lemon law or something in KY where this would be considered fraud, but i wouldn't mention it to him unless he would've not done anything. You can't go around hurting small buisnesses, they might up and close on you.
