Default metal in rancher 350 oil

I have a rancher 350 4x4 that i had rebuilt. it ran fine but the crank rod devoured my wrist pin after about 6 months. i replaced the oil about once a week during break in to try and discourage metal floating around, the irony. then i descided to replace the crank shaft. i got a good rebuilt one and installed it. oncs i fired it up, the flywheel key snapped off. i replaced that and went on. I later find metal all in the oil. I take it back apart for inspection. Every thing checked out. i went ahead and replaced some bearings and the oil pump and put it back together. I cleaned out the oil cooler and lines very thoroughly.. the engine was tip top condition and clean. still with the metal flakes. Are there any crank shaft componetes that are steel and aluminum? Im getting real tired of this real quick. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Are you positive it is metal you are seeing? Some assembly lube can look a lot like metal flakes...
