anybody know any cheap power gains for trx450r

 

Just the norm. Lid off/holes, Remove spark arrestor, then dont be lazy and tear up your quad and PUT IN THE PROPER JET!

All this will cost you maybe $10.00 in jets.

so a gutted stock muffler is a good cheap alternative for a aftermarket muffler

 

Don't gut it of all the packing, look on ebay and get the larger diameter end cap.

 

Aye, don't remOve the baffle. Just the spark arrester. Are the HRC end caps what he's after Red400?

 

so just the screen ....... the baffle bolts to the screen on my 450 so if i take the screen out the baffle has to come too (the baffle bolts to the screen which bolts to the muffler)

 

Yes, but you don't need to get the one by Honda, you can get aftermarket one on ebay.
That, alonhg with opening the airbox a little, is the first mod I did on my 450r.
Followed by many more (not so cheap) modifications.

 

Personally I would just wait and save your money up and buy a slip on...
