Default spark arrestor

Ok,

Called a place up, land between the lakes (turkey bay ohv) and they told me i'd have to get a spark arrestor for my tom carlson supertrapp.... I've looked everywhere and it seems imppossibal to find one..... I called the good ole boy i got it from and he told me, just ride on, they don't check. I was told by the guy at lbl if a forest fire started i'd pay for the damages for not having a spark arrestor, and if other folks complained he'd track me down and cite me.... Theres one way in and one way out, the guy stops and talks and explains the rules.... what a pain in the butt!

So the fella i called told me just to stick some duct tape over the pipe and punch some holes in it..... I tried it.... and... It literally blew off a huge chunk just cranking over.... by the time it started the tape was busted to smitherines!

My pipe says u.s.f.s. approved with # insert or something like that....

So:

anyone got a link where i can find a spark arrestor or some kind of insert...

anyone got a home remedy i can fix up to pass the inspection...

Oh yeah, the guy said he can check for a 96db reading, i'll blow that out of the water, but without a reason, he won't check.....

When he hears you riding up to the gate, that will be his reason to check the db level.

The spark arrestor is just screen. You could go down to the local hardware store and get some aluminum window screen and some fine wire and make one.

I really don't get it... a stock quad with a stock pipe can still be heard.... a piped quad is not much worst.... I mean.... some people would still complain if we all rode with stock pipes.....

All these places are doing is trying to remain open. You know the way it works. If its ok for you than its ok for everyone. Then its loud. Btw your right some people will cry about anything.

You should watch this to get the idea about noise levels. It doesn't matter where you ride, there will always be neighbors to the property you are riding that will not appreciate the excessive noise.

We don't need to give anyone...anywhere...any reason to dislike us anymore than they already do...do the right thing here, Tac...and don't use an excuse like "nobody else is doing it"...get a spark arrestor, and keep within sound limits...we GOTTA do what we can to keep our riding areas open

Was at LBL a few years ago, was a nice place to ride

I'm not chancing it taking my quad there, even though it's supposed to be a huge place.... Even with the spark arrestor. Found an empty seat on the rzr

as for the video.... the kid just wants to have fun.... The lady should confront the kid, not youtube...

Of course the attitude i'm seeing from her isn't the attitude that works things out.... who knows what came of that! lol

In short we need a little more of this

maybe....
