Default 04 450R: Chain broke lower case, How do I fix it?

The chain guard was not on it (my fault for being lazy) so the chain popped off and cracked the case. Whats the best way to fix it? Can it be welded? and even if it can, can it be welded still intact on the bike. If I need a lower case, wheres my best bet to find one and what am I looking at paying for one? Also How much labor is it to change the lower case, what wou;ld I expect to pay a shop for this? Also, a guy told me that there was a outer and a inner case. Only my outer seems to be broken, he says. Sorry for all the questions from a noobi, but I don't know much about 4 wheelers it seems lol.

If you are talking about the left engine casecover[outer one] Retail 107.95..Yes can be welded but It be best to replaced cover for the money ..sometimes the weld will warp cover cause it so thin,Should be bout an half hour to hour labor...It depends on the mechanic...

Ok, after I typed that I went and took a better look at it and it is not the case cover, it is in fact the crankcase itself.

JB weld will most likely hold. There is no pressure there. Many guys fix cases with JB weld so for a few bucks, it's worth a try.

Ok, so IS THERE an inner crank case? What am I looking at labor wise to replace that left case?

The motor will have to come out, top end removed and the case (not side covers) needs to be split.
Prices are regional, call your local shops for a ball park #.
