2003 Honda rincon ? Before purchase
#11
Thanks, I ended up picking up the brute. It came with a 54" warn pro vantage plow and a warden winch for $5500. Does this price seem fair? He was the original owner and had records for 2 fluid changes and it only has 31 hours on it.

The Rincon has a odd tranny. Its only a 3 speed auto with no low range thats why its tow rating is only 850lbs while the smaller 500 Foreman is more like 1200 lbs.
And at 39hp the Rincon is the lowest powered big Bore on the market, new 550s make that much power most 500s are almost that.

the engine also shares the same oil as the tranny- it hate's to shift until it's warmed up. There was an o-ring issue with the tranny- maybe a recall- I can't remember.

2003 was the first year for the Rinny, I know, I bought one. Compared to other 4x4 brand 650cc ATVs on the market, the 2003 rinny is the slowest, does not have adjustable shocks, has no low range, no downhill engine braking, leaky drum style front brakes, and is just plain boring. I kept mine for 2 years, bought a 700cc EFI King Quad and the KQ beat the Rinny in most every department. And dont buy into the Honda reliability BS anymore either.
