I have spent the past days on the floor, exercising my back muscles so I can again become mobile. going for the front fenders now, anticipate being back on here early afternoon with more information.. slow going for sure.

got fenders off earlier, I can't bend hardly at all and it has a dealer mounted winch that takes up most of the space under the plastic. however when I disconnected the dash plug, the beep went away. so, tomorrow I will jump each pin to its corresponding socket one at a time and see if anyone causes it to beep again. I suspect I will need to check the diagram and at least hook up a neg to be constantly connected between the plug and socket if it has one, while I do my testing.
my old eyeballs can't see well enuf at night to look at the wiring diagram so it will be a tomorrow job.
am I going in the right direction ?
thanks again. . .

back at it again. I did make a jumper wire to connect the two brown wires together. (just like having the plug put together but only the brown wire. . .) then I took another test lead and connected to each post on the "hot side " of the plug, and with a pin connected to the test lead on the other end, I poked it into each of the contacts on the plug that's connected to the meter. all this time I have the beep tester attached to the battery ground and cable ground. no sounds came from that.
next, I attached a jumper from the brown wire that's still hooked onto the two halves of the plug and touched the bl/red stripe on plug and full loud beep came from the tester. looking at the diagram, I see that the bl/red stripe wire goes to the ignition, ok.
where should I go from this point forward ? ? ?
