01 Rancher 350
#1
Good morning guys. I just picked up my first ATV last night and will have several questions I'm sure. Its the 2001 Honda Rancher 350 2wd. The guy I bought it from says I need a left rear brake drum assembly because there isn't one there. Well looking at the brake lines, it looks like the Rancher didn't come with the left rear brakes. Am I correct?
Also, whats a good muffler to quiet it down? I don't want it to be loud.
Thanks in advance!

Honda are known for being nice quiet ATVs ,if your muffler is shot I look for a good used one,the 350 Rancher was made for awhile so their should be some good used mufflers out there.

The drum is next to the rear right wheel.
The Drum housing even with its internal parts all remove would still need to be there for the rear axle to work with the wheel.
If you do need back brakes they sell a rear disk brake conversion kit. http://www.atvtiresale.com/high-lift...03-p-1060.html

Correct rancher doesnt have an left rear brake....Brakes and drum is on the the right side it has an one piece rear axle. postive traction on rear just one set needed its stop the boths sides since its an one piece axle.

All atvs usually only have one rear brake because both rear wheels are locked and roll together as one ,also the front twin brakes do most of the stopping work since their are two and are more powerful hydraulic disk vs a weaker mechanical cable single rear drum .
I don,t find myself on the rear brake nearly as much as the fronts.
