Default Has Honda fixed the ES problems on 2014 models

Hello all, I have a 07 foreman. Shifts fine up but I have to come to complete stop to downshift although after engine gets hot it sometimes shifts down like normal... I would love to hear a fix for it. Also was looking to trade up to the 2014 foreman. Fuel injection, trax-lock, etc and was going back to foot-shift unless I hear they have improved the ES system... Does anyone have any knowledge on this? Thanks for all imput
Recovering from broken back recvd in auto crash so kinda tough to do my own work... But ain't skeered to try! Lol

Sounds like you might be having a mechanical gear on gear problem as opposed to a electric shift issue. The 07 foremans had some transmission problems that were later corrected so you may want to look further into it. As far as the esp in the 2014, it should work relatively flawless. The ES is very reliable and outside of bad sensors on few units (relatively cheap and easy to replace) it will generally not give any issue.. I have a 04 rincon, 08 rubicon and had a 09 rancher all bought brand new and have yet to have a single ESP issue. I wouldn't worry if I were you.
I might have to take a look at the new foremans. Extremely nice bike but I'd like to see the rubicon take on that body style in 2015. That would be a great bike

It does seem more like a mechanical problem than the ES system. I would adjust the clutch for a start. The 07 gearbox problem was jumping out of gear, caused by rapidly wearing dogs.

It is far too early to say if the new model will have ES problems, but if it has a motor to change gear, an angle sensor to tell the ECU that it has changed, and button switches for up and down, there will probably be problems with them.
